B.Tech/Int. MSc Photonics/B.Tech Marine Engineering Spot Admission

All interested candidates should report at 9 am at Seminar Complex, in front of


Administrative Ofce, C SAT on spot admissions days as given below. Candidates have to
register their names for participating in the spot admission. Spot allotment to courses
will be made based on rank and reservation category subject to availability of vacancies.
There is no separate spot for NRI vacancies. For Vacancy details please visit

07.08.201 Wednesday Second General spot admission to B.Tech/ Int.Msc(Photonics)/
9 Reporting B.Tech Marine Engineering courses. Interested candidate need
time 9.00 to come to the Seminar Complex, CUSAT, Kochi-22 and register
am their names at 9 AM.
In the second-round vacant seats reserved for SEBC
communities will be converted as General All India Merit
seats.

Third SPOT for B.Tech/Int.Msc(Photonics) seats reserved for SC/


ST candidates. Interested candidate need to come to the
Seminar Complex, CUSAT, Kochi-22 and register their names.
SC/ST candidates who did not apply for CAT 2019 can also
participate. In the absence of ST candidates, the seats will be
offered to SC candidates and vice versa
14.08.201 Wednesday Final spot admission to B.Tech/ Int.Msc(Photonics) courses.

be offered to candidates belonging to OEC communities in the
second round

Fees

Candidates eligible for admission to B.Tech / Int.Msc(Photonics) / B.Tech Marine


Engineering need to pay fees at the counselling venue (Seminar Complex) on the day of
admission itself. It can be paid in cash or DD in favour of Registrar, C SAT payable at
Ernakulam. Online fee payment facility is not available.

Photonics

The admitted candidates for B.Tech Marine Engineering programme should produce
their original passport at the time of commencement of B.Tech Marine Engineering
classes.

CERTIFICATES TO BE PRODUCED

I. The eligible candidates allotted for B.Tech Marine Engineering programme should
produce Medical Certifcate from the DG Shipping approved
doctors(http://dgshipping.gov.in/WriteReadData/ serFiles/fle
/list_regular_30112017.pdf)

II. Following documents (Original with two self-attested copies) should be produced
at the time of Joining/Verifcation of Certifcates:

1. Admit Card of CAT 2019 or the copy of the Application Confrmation Page.

2. S.S.L.C / 10th Standard Certifcate Mark List

3. Plus 2 (+2)/12th Standard/Pre-Degree/Higher Secondary Certifcate Mark List


(Candidates who have not received the Mark List/ Certifcate shall submit a
“Declaration” at the time of Joining/Verifcation of Certifcates)

4. Transfer Certifcate from the Institution/Department last attended

5. Conduct Certifcate from the Institution/Department last attended

III. Proof required for availing communal reservation:

a. Kerala Scheduled Caste (KSC)/Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KST) Candidates should produce
valid Community Certifcate issued by the Tahasildar.
b. SEBC candidates, i.e. candidates belongs to Ezhava /Thiyya/Billava (ETB), Muslim(MSM),
Latin Catholic or Anglo-Indian(LCC), Other Backward Christian (OBX), Other Backward
Hindus (OBH), Dheevara (DHV), Kudumbi (KMB), Pot Making Communities (PMC) and
Viswakarma (VSK) etc. should produce a valid Community Certifcate and Non-Creamy
Layer certifcate issued by the Village Ofcer. If the community/category is clearly
specifed in the Non-creamy layer certifcate no separate community certifcate is
required.
c. OBH candidates eligible for fee concession applicable to OEC candidates should also
produce valid income certifcate from the competent authority to prove their eligibility.
III. Keralite Status: A candidate will be considered as ‘Keralite’ for the limited
purpose of admission procedure, if:
He / She or his/her father/mother was born in Kerala.
OR
He / She has been a resident of Kerala for a period of 5 years within a period of 12
Years.
OR
He / She has undergone his/her school studies from standards VIII to XII in
educational institutions(s) in Kerala.
Children of All India Service (AIS) Ofcers (Non-Keralites) allotted to Kerala circle
are deemed to be “Keralites’ (GO (Rt.) No. 822/08/H. Edn. dated 29/05/2008). But
they will not be eligible for Communal/Special Reservations applicable to
“Keralites”.

Proofs accepted for Keralite Status:


Candidates claiming the Keralite status should invariably produce at the time of
Joining/Verifcation of Certifcates and/or Interview and/or Group Discussion any one of
the following certifcates in original:
1. The certifcate of Birth / Residence of the candidate or his/her father or mother
from the Village Ofcer / Tahsildar or from a competent authority of local body.

2. The ‘Certifcate showing school studies in Kerala from Standards VIII to XII’ from
the Head of School where the candidate completed his / her study in Standard XII.

3. Relevant page of the SSLC of the candidate’s father / mother showing the place
of birth in Kerala with corroborative evidence showing the relationship between
the candidate and the parent.
4. Relevant page of the passport of the candidate or either of parents issued by
the Government of India showing place of birth in Kerala with corroborative
evidence showing the relationship between the parent and candidate.

5. Birth certifcate of candidate or his / her, father / mother showing the place of
birth in Kerala with corroborative evidence showing the relationship between the
candidate and father / mother whose birth certifcate is being produced.

1. For claiming Keralite - AIS (All India Service), certifcate from competent
authority should be attached.

IV. Non-resident Indian (NRI) Seats (Applicable to all Programmes for which NRI
seats are allotted):

1. NRI status is not compulsory but, at the time of admission candidates who opted
NRI seats should submit the ‘Declaration’ given in Prospectus 2019

2. For NRI seats candidates should have applied for the same at the time of
application registration. Others will not be considered for admission under NRI
seats. However, they can participate in NRI spot admission if seats are available.

V. Seats reserved for Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries (CGW)


applicable to all Programmes for which CGW seats are allotted):

CGW seats are reserved for candidates whose father or mother is working in
any Gulf Country. They shall invariably produce necessary proof of employment
at the time of counselling. Candidates who are eligible for this reservation
should opt for the same under “special reservations” while submitting the
online application.

CGW Seats - Documents to be submitted at the time of counselling in


original:

1. Certifcate / Mark list of Plus Two Examinations and 10th Certifcate.

2. Employment Certifcate of the Parent which is duly attested by The


Indian Embassy / Govt. Agency.
OR
Copy of Work Permit, Account Statement of Bank in Gulf Country and
copy of VISA which are duly attested by The Indian Embassy / a Govt.
Agency.

3. Copy of the Birth Certifcate of the candidate or any other Government


certifcate/document proving the relationship between the candidate
and the parent.
4. Migration Certifcate (if the candidate has studied in an institution
outside Kerala)

5. Transfer Certifcate and Conduct Certifcate from the Institution last


attended.

Note: If a candidate fails to submit the required certifcates at the time of admission
then his claim for admission to the programme under the category claimed by
him will be forfeited. The sole responsibility for such incidents will rest with the
candidate only.
