Question
How do I manually delete or remove an application from the Project List if you are having
trouble removing it with the Application Manager?
Unable to delete FactoryTalk View Site Edition application using the Application Manager.
Environment
FactoryTalk View SE
FactoryTalk View ME
Answer
Do the following steps:
Note: Version 8.0 FactoryTalk View ME and greater requires only step 3.
2. Right click and select Properties and change the Startup Type to Disabled and reboot the
computer.
Note: You may also have to disable Rockwell Directory Multiplexer and Rockwell
Directory Server if the above service does not stop.
3. Delete the project folder (application folder) from the following directory - Depending on if it is
ME or SE:

In Windows XP
4. Then delete the <ApplicationName>.RnaD files from the following directories - Note: The file
will not be in all of them:
In Windows 7
Note: ProgramData is a normally hidden folder in Windows 7.
C:\ProgramData\Rockwell\RNAClient\Local
C:\ProgramData\Rockwell\RNAClient\Local\RNAStore
C:\ProgramData\Rockwell\RNAServer\Local
C:\ProgramData\Rockwell\RNAServer\Local\RNAStore
In Windows XP
5. Once done, ensure that you set the startup types of the services that were disabled in step 2
back are set back to Automatic then, reboot the PC.
