IV. PROCEDURES
ELICIT (5min.)
A. Reviewing previous lesson or (Higher Order Thinking Skills Questions)
presenting the new lesson Drill/ Recall their knowledge about free falling bodies.
1. How does gravity work?
2. What is the acceleration due to gravity on earth?
3. What is free fall?
4. What happen to the velocity when you throw a ball
upward?

ENGAGE (5min.)
B. Establishing a purpose for the (video clip)
lesson Ask: What are the different kinds of motions demonstrated in
the video?”
C. Presenting examples/instances Tell students that they have seen several projectile motion in
of the new lesson the video. Ex. When a basketball player aim for a three-point
shot, when a pitcher throw the ball and when the ping pong
was hit by a racket. Projectile motion will serve as an example
of motion in two-dimension.

Objectives:
The learners should be able to:
• Describe the horizontal and vertical motions of a
projectile.
• Identify the factors that determine the projectile’s
flight.
• Determine the other factors that may affect the
motion of objects.
EXPLORE (15min.)
D. Discussing new concepts and
practicing new skills #1 Group activity:
Activity 1: “PhET” Simulation: Projectile Motion”
E. Discussing new concepts and Designing the Activity:
practicing new skills #2  Divide the class into groups (mixed boys and girls)
 Distribute the Learning Activity Sheet to the students:
 Read the instructions reflected on your LAS.
 Using the given materials, follow the set up procedure.
Refer to Learners Activity Sheet.

EXPLAIN (15min.)

projected at different angles?

travel? the shortest time of travel?
9. What is the relation of the angle of release to time off
travel of an object?
10. Which factor in the projectile’s trajectory is affected
when you change the initial speed?
11. How do you relate the initial speed of the projectile to
the height and range of the projectile’s trajectory?

ELABORATE (10min)

The rubric for the activity is accuracy is 40 points, If
you finish on time you have 10 points and teamwork is
10 points. A total of 60 points.
