    The university has implemented some environmental projects aimed at raising awareness about environmental issues among the educational community and teaching them how to care for the environment. The Architecture School has the only program with an environmental focus, which is part of socially constructing urban surroundings. The main objective of the university's programs is to apply sustainability concepts through internal campaigns and education to provide students with the knowledge to optimize resource use on campus. A student group proposed an environmental awareness campaign using plays, presentations, and a webpage to educate fellow students on the importance of caring for the environment.

    UGC’s Environmental care projects

    INTRODUCTION

    Currently the ministry of education has implemented different projects and


    regulations for the educational institutions, these projects and regulations are known
    as PRAE because of their acronyms in Spanish, PRAE seeks to make the
    institutions create different programs to look after the environment.

    La Gran Colombia University is starting to bring into action some programs for
    making aware the educational community about the environmental issues and also
    orient them about how they could take care of the environment.

    GENERAL OBJECTIVE

    The main objective of this project is to look into the different programs that the
    university has implemented and check if the expectations or goals of those programs
    could be reached.

    THE PROJECTS IMPLEMENTED BY THE UNIVERSITY

    Architecture School has the only one program with an environmental axis, which is
    part of the social construction of the surroundings, as the meaning of value that the
    individual has in urban settings. From different sectors of Society,some commitments
    have been generated to permit us to highlight within the international framework by
    developing networks of research and mobility for students and teachers,in response
    to the transformation of the city under the Eco-city concept.

    MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE UNIVERSITY PROGRAM

    Based on the previous, the main objective of the university is to apply the concepts
    to development and inner campaigns. This objective seeks to convey the necessary
    conceptual basis,so that the students can develop appropriate criteria to optimize
    the resources set aside for the college community.
    GROUP’S PROPOSAL
    In order to solve or at least attempt to minimize pollution in our surroundings,it’s
    been decided or thought through that an environmental campaign could serve to
    educate students about how important is the milieu we are surrounded by and why
    it must be taken care of.

    Through the campaigns held by the team and some other means such as
    plays,costumes,talks and appealing environment facts or datum will be utilized to
    raise awareness in the college community,some brochures will be allotted to the
    students.The usage of a web page will come in handy to instruct the students about
    this important issue.
