CRACKING

GATE
SANKET PURANDARE
AIR 25 (CS) GATE 2016
WHY NOT GRE ?
[MS IN USA]
• Except for the top IITs, no Indian university features in the
top 100 in the world rankings.
• No significant research work, average projects and lack of
published papers.
• No worthy Recommendations from Professors.
• Funding.
OPPORTUNITY ONCE
YOU CRACK GATE
• M.Tech or PhD at IISc and IITs.
• Public Sector Units.
• Top Research Organizations.
STRATEGY WHICH I
FOLLOWED
1. Reading the syllabus thoroughly.
2. Collecting the necessary material i.e. standard reference
books only.
3. Deciding the content to study.
4. Preparing a plan.
5. Studying all the necessary concepts with clarity from
reference books for each subject as per the official GATE
syllabus.
6. Solving the reference book exercises and problems.
7. Solving the previous 29 years GATE questions relating to
the particular subject taken up for studying.
STRATEGY WHICH I
FOLLOWED
8. Backtrack the questions which I couldn’t solve or got
wrong to the underlying concept which I may have
understood incorrectly or if it’s just a calculation mistake
then ignore.
9. Join a test series and solve question papers and then
follow up same as the above point.
10. Analyze your test results, weak areas and focus on them.
11. Revise from the summaries you prepared while studying.
WHAT I LEARNT FROM
MY PREPARATION
1. Motivation is the most important thing which keeps you
going.
2. You can never complete the entire syllabus thoroughly.
3. Silly mistakes cannot be eliminated, since it’s not the
mistakes but the person who makes them is silly.
4. 100% accuracy is highly improbable.
5. Only practice will make you perfect.
6. Extraordinary geniuses are not required to crack GATE,
only investment of quality time and hard work are
sufficient.
7. Anyone can do it.
THE ROADMAP
