THESIS TOPIC 2 :
RECOVERY CENTER FOR HOMELESS

INTRODUCTION:

Homelessness is a major issue in India. The 'homeless' as those who do


not live in a regular residence due to lack of adequate housing, safety,
and availability. India defines 'homeless' as those who do not live in
Census houses, but rather stay on pavements, roadsides, railway
platforms, staircases, temples, streets, in pipes, or other open spaces.
There are 1.77 million homeless people in India, or 0.15% of the
country's total population, according to the 2011 census consisting of
single men, women, mothers, the elderly, and the disabled. There are 18
million street children in India, the largest number of any country in the
world. Homeless shelters are a type of homeless service agency which
provide temporary residence for homeless individuals and families.
Shelters exist to provide residents with safety and protection from
exposure to the weather while simultaneously reducing the
environmental impact on the community.

AIM:

 To recover and provide proper shelter for homeless people and


providing proper medical attention and give them a proper future.

OBJECTIVES:

 To provide proper shelter for homeless people.


 To provide vocational training center .
 To provide education center for children.

SCOPE:

 This will helps to increase the standards of the homeless people.


 To enhance the job opportunities for them by vocational training
center.
 To ensure proper health care for them.

SITE SELECTION:

 Site is preferred in New Delhi, India.

SITE JUSTIFICATION:

 Site is preferred in New Delhi because New Delhi has the highest rate
of homeless people in India.
 18 million homeless people are there in India in that around 3 million
people are from New Delhi.
 This is main reason for the site selection in New Delhi.
