Is a person engaged to work for a household within an
employment relationship One should be hired specifically to perform household work Persons who perform domestic work occasionally and not on an occupational basis are not considered domestic workers. Children or relatives of the DW who live under the employer’s roof cannot be considered DW if not engaged as such and not required to perform household work
Minimum age for employment
15 years old Unlawful to employ any person below 15 years old as DW
Hiring of DW
Can be hired directly or through employment agency
