General
If you want your machines to give optimum performance, the lubricants you use must
meet stringent requirements.
We have received this information from the suppliers. However, there may be
differences in different countries. For safety’s sake, check with your supplier that the
lubricant you have chosen meets the relevant requirements.
In addition to the examples listed in this manual, there are lubricants from other
suppliers and/or of other grades, which meet Sandvik’s requirements, and these can thus
also be used.
Lubricants which do not meet Sandvik’s requirements must not be used during the
machine’s guarantee period.
In the instruction manuals for the individual machines you will find references to the
tables in this Lubricant Recommendation Manual.
Handling
Oil products are hazardous to the environment and are
Warning !!! inflammable. In addition, inhalation and skin contact can
cause injuries. Always follow your supplier’s instructions
and safety regulations when handling oil products.
Mixing properties
Proceed with caution if you change from one brand and/or type of lubricant to another.
Different brands and types of lubricant are not always compatible. Attempts to mix
incompatible lubricants can lead to expensive breakdowns.
Normally, the old lubricant must be carefully flushed out before the changeover. Your
lubricant supplier can give you information about their products’ miscibility.
Storage
Store lubricants in a clean room and follow the recommendations given by your
lubricant supplier. Clean the outside of the lid before you open a can or drum. Use only
vessels that have been carefully cleaned.

Requirements:
The grease must fulfil the requirements given in the table below in order to ensure that
the crusher’s spider bearing is satisfactorily lubricated, even under conditions of
vibration and long-term heavy loading. In addition, the grease must give good
protection against corrosion.
Other characteristics:
- Must contain EP additives
- Must be pumpable
