SING TO THE DAWN

CHARACTERISTICS OF DAWAN

Paragraph 1
 A young Thai girl who lives with her family in a village
 very close with her family especially the brother, Kwai and grandmother.
 goes to school together with Kwai and studies in the same class.
 faces many problem because of inequality of gender.
 Wins the scholarship to study in City.

Paragraph 2
- The first reason why I like is because she is a loving and caring person.
 enjoys being with her brother and exchange ideas and opinions with him

TE : always goes with Kwai to watch the sunrise at wooden bridge.


TE : understands Kwai’s feeling to get the scholarship
TE : does not want to go to study in City until she gets her parents’ permission.
TE : understand the problems faced by her father who has to give away the sacks of
rice to the landlord as tax.
TE : loves her community so she wants to bring changes to help them.

- The second reason why I like is because she is a determined person.


 Determined to change the unfair system in her village.

TE : fights for her rights to study in the City.


TE : wants to change the unfair system of landlord to give better live for villagers.
TE : wants to prove that a girl can do equally good a boy.
TE : tries her best to get the support from others to let her to study in City.

- The third reason why I like is because she is an obedient person.

 Respects her family and her sibling’s feelings and wishes.

TE : does not want to hurt Kwai whom wants to study in City school.
TE : waits patiently to her parents’ permission to study in City.
TE : explains to her father why she needs this chance to study in City.
TE : willing to give out her chance to Kwai to study in City school.

Paragraph 3
 These are the reasons why I like Dawan. She is person who has many good
qualities in her.
