my topic is about the nobel prize in Physics 2010.

this prize was for Andre Geim and

Konstantin Novoselov by start one of the most important research areas today.

They extracted graphene from a piece of graphite(the same as that found in any ordinary
pen). They used a kind of tape that allowed them to extract a sheet of graphite one atom of
carbon. Many scientists believed that it was impossible.

Geim and Novoselov achieved the unexpected and they became in candidates for the
Nobel Prize.

the Graphene has allowed physicists to study the properties of materials in just two
dimensions. Many of these properties are due to phenomena of quantum physics .

the Graphene applications are increasing every day, including the creation of new
materials and manufacture of innovative electronic products (such as graphene
transistors) that could replace silicon and germanium in many applications.

Because it is virtually transparent and a good driver, graphene is suitable for the
production of transparent touch screens, screens for televisions and monitors, and even
solar cells.

the graphene Mixed with plastics makes becames in conductor of electricity, making them
more resistant to heat and mechanical resistance, and making it possible to develop new
materials with good elastic properties and very light, with possible applications in
satellites, airplanes and automobiles .

finally They said that at 2011 or 2012 will arise the creation of the first device of this
material, and it will be a touchscreen mobile phone entirely new. also They said the
graphene chips will be used with more frecuency within 10 years.
