    UNI NPWT Dressing Kit

    Application Guide
    This is a quick reference guide to demonstrate the steps in a typical dressing
    application. As with any medical device, it is important to read and
    understand the detailed instructions for use and safety information (including
    information on bleeding, exposed vessels and organs, and infection)
    applicable to the UNI NPWT dressing application and the Simex Therapy
    pumps prior to each use. Do not use if individual pouch is damaged and/or
    opened. Please consult a physician and product instructions for use prior to
    application.

    Caution: Federal (USA) law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a physician.

    Step 1: Assess wound size and type. Debride any necrotic tissue and cleanse
    the wound appropriately (Fig. 1).
    Step 2: Cut the foam dressing to size and shape of wound. Do not cut the
    foam dressing over the wound as this could result in unwanted debris falling
    into the wound bed (Fig. 2).
    Step 3: Gently place the foam dressing in the wound. Document the number
    of pieces of foam used on the drape, and in the patients chart.

    Step 4: Size and trim the drape (Fig. 3). First, peel off tab #1. Place adhesive side
    down over the wound. Second, peel off tab #2 and gently press the drape on
    the periwound. Use gentle pressure to press the drape onto the surrounding
    intact skin to ensure a proper seal before peeling tab #3.
    (Fig. 4) Finally, remove the perforated blue handling strips.
    Step 5: Choose a location for the dome pad and tubing. Gently pinch the drape
    to cut a 2.5 cm round hole, approximately the diameter of a quarter.
    Step 6: Remove the adhesive backing on the dome pad (Fig. 5). Place the dome
    pad opening directly over the hole in the drape (Fig. 6). Peel off the top liner and
    the blue handling tabs. Use gentle pressure to adhere the dome pad to the
    drape securing a seal.
    Step 7: Ensure the white clamp on the dome pad tubing is open. Connect
    the dome pad tubing to the canister tubing by press fit (Fig. 7). Start power
    to the therapy unit.
