Linksys 2700 Re-configuration

The Ooredoo supplies Linksys 2700 router for extended wi-fi access. The devices sometimes
lose the settings and render useless or work with a free wi-fi network. By logging in with ip
192.168.100.200, it is normally accessed, but if it does not work, It need to be reconfigured to
access the settings.

1. Hardware Reset
IMPORTANT: Before you start the upgrade, ensure that the preliminary steps below have been
performed.
1. Check LED lights To check if your router can still work. Blinking red signifies that your
router can no longer be fixed. For more information, click here.
2. One-minute reset or Hard Reset While the router is plugged in, continuously press the
reset button for one (1) minute, observe the behavior of the LED lights while performing
this step to check the routers response.
NOTE: This step will erase all of your routers settings and restore it to the factory default.
1. Powercycle the router To perform a powercycle, unplug the device from the power
source for about 30 seconds before plugging it back.

Set Static IP on the computer In order to ping the router, we have to set a Static IP for
the router. For more information, click here.

Ping the router this is to ensure that you can establish a connection with your router.

4. Incase there is no ip address inside, the router may not ping. In such case follow
instructions on section 3. Connecting through existing network.

2. Maunal update
The software maybe accessed from here.
Method is to use the TFTP utility to update the router. Detaisl are available here

Connect the Linksys as shown below

Log in to the routers web-based setup page. To do this, enter http://192.168.1.1 or
myrouter.local in the address bar of your web-browser.

Login to the system with admin password. < Default password is admin> and continue with
manual upgrade.

3. Connecting through existing network


In Case the IP address(192.168.1.1) / myrouter.local is not accessible, connect the router to
existing network as shown in above figure.
Confirm you are getting internet access on PC.
Through browser, login to 192.168.100.200 (for Ooredoo), and continue with manual update of
firmware as explained in 2.Manual Update.
Incase 192.168.100.200 is not accessible, the actual IP need to be found out.
Download Advanced IP scanner software and scan your network.
Identify the IP address for Cisco device in the network and try that. Ensure that other Cisco
devices are not connected to the system.
