    FOUR YEAR B.TECH DEGREE END EXAMINATION


    THIRD SEMESTER EXAMINATION
    MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
    MACHINE DRAWING (MD)
    (SCHEME-2013)
    Time: 3Hours

    Max.Marks:70
    Note: 1.Answer ONE QUESTION from UNIT-I & UNIT-II
    2. UNIT-III is compulsory
    3. Assume any missing data
    UNIT-I

    1. Draw the sectional view from the front and, view from the side of a cotter joint with
    sleeve used to connect two rods of 50mm diameter each.

    2. Draw half sectional view from the front, with left half in section and view from above
    of a bushed journal bearing, suitable for supporting a shaft of diameter 25mm. (15)

    UNIT-II
    3. Draw (a) sectional view from the front and (b) view from the above of a single
    riveted, double strap butt joint to join plates of thickness 10 mm.

    4. Sketch the required views, indicating proportions of compression coupling to
    connect two shafts, each of diameter 30 mm.

    5. Assemble all parts of the stuffing box for a vertical steam engine, shown in Fig (1) and
    draw half sectional view from the front, with left half in section and view from above
