What is Upthrust?
Upthrust is the generated lift force exerted by the
liquid or gas and when an object is partially
immersed or completely sink into the liquid
Archimedes Principle
Archimedes Principle stated that the upward buoyant force
(force exerted by a fluid that opposes the weight of an
immersed object) that is exerted on a body when immersed in
a fluid, whether fully or partially submerged, is equal to the
weight of the displaced water.
Upthrust = apparent loss of weight of object = weight in air weight in liquid

Three conditions:
Weight of boat < maximum volume of water
it could ever push aside, it floats.
The more load you add to a boat, the more it
weighs, and the further it will have to
sink for the upthrust to balance its
weight. Why? Because the pressure of
water increases with depth: the further
