Section 2(b) of the contact act defines Acceptance as; When the
person to the proposal is made signifies his assent thereto, the
proposal is said to be accepted. A proposal when accepted become a
promise.
Acceptance can be made only by words spoken or written.

Acceptance must be absolute and unqualified


Acceptance must be communicated to the offeror
Acceptance must be made within a reasonable time
Acceptance must be communicated in some usual reasonable manner
Acceptance must be expressed or implied
Acceptance must be made by the offeree
Acceptor must be aware of the proposal at the time of the offer
Acceptance must be made only after the offer is made
Acceptance must be given before the offer lapses or revoked
Acceptance concludes the contract

Communication of acceptance is necessary for forming a contract. It


can be effected by act or commission.
Act includes conduct or by words, written or oral, letter, telegram,
telephone etc
Commission includes conduct or forbearance on the part of one person
which has the effect of communication.

Against the proposer when it is put in a course of transmission to him


as to be out of the power of the acceptor
Against the acceptor when it comes to the knowledge of the proposer.

According to sec 5 an acceptance of proposal may be revoked at any


any time before the communication of acceptance is complete as
against the accepter but not after words.
