Complete blood count ESR and CRP: Urinalysis and urine pH level: renal tubular acidosis. Other blood tests to look for liver, kidney and other medical problems Renal function tests and electrolytes Serum transferrin and prealbumin concentrations Bone or skeletal disorders such as rickets or achondroplasia Serum total thyroxine (total T4) and thyrotropin (TSH), assay free T4 levels vitamin D deficiency. Growth hormone deficiency Chronic diseases such as, kidney diseases, asthma, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, Cushing's disease, hypothyroidism, and diabetes Genetic conditions such as Down syndrome, Turner syndrome, Williams syndrome, Russell-Silver syndrome, and Noonan syndrome bone age x-ray left wrist Growth hormone stimulation test Insulin growth factor-1 (IGF-1) levels Antiendomysial immunoglobulin A (IgA) and immunoglobulin G (IgG), transglutaminase IgG, and antigliadin IgG titers Karyotype by G-banding
