    Sub: Maintenance Report of Senapati MPTO.

    I, along with H. Lokeshana Meitei SI(Telecom), arrive at Senapati MPTO office at around 0900 hrs. of 22nd Oct. 2013. Just as we arrive there we check Wireless sets, antenna cables, antenna and battery charge positions etc. Everything found fine. There is no problem regarding reception of signal of DHQ channel in most locations at and around our office. The only problem is transmitting signal cannot go through. We search location which is good for transmission. We find some 3/4 locations from where transmitting signal can go through. But when observing the transmitting signal conditions at the above locations for some time, we find that the transmitting signal cannot always pass through repeater. It seems that transmitting signal is highly dependent on weather condition. So a reliable communication cannot be setup at our existing office. We use Yagi Antenna (directional antenna) which has more power gain compared to GP antenna. At last we fix the antenna at a location in front of our office where a cherry plant grows. Antenna height is two collapsible tower sections. We search location even at the polnet tower installed at Old DC Complex and rooftop of Old SP Office. There also we cannot find location which is good for transmission. When checked at Google Earth, there is a hill range nearer to the side of Senapati across the arial line joining Baruni and Senapati MPTO office. This could be the reason of not availing transmission signal of Senapati to Baruni repeater. We also search some select-locations beyond our office complex so that authority can take constructive decisions as to whether our office should be shifted at such location for better communication setup. We find a location near the New DC Bungalow which is situated inside the mini secretariat complex, Senapati and a location just in front of DIG(R-IV) office-cum-residence where both Rx/Tx signal are good. DIG (R-IV) office-cum-residence is situated at about 300 meters up along the New Mini Secretariat going road. And DC Bungalow is situated at about 1 km up the same road. We leave Senapati MPTO at about 1620 hrs for MPTO HQ of same day. Submitted for kind perusal and necessary action please.
