The BOY Scout Program

The Boy Scouts Section is 1 of the 5 educational (sectional) programs of the BSP. Especially designed for boys ages from 10 to 12 years old, who join Scout Troops sponsored by various institutions of the society, which include government and non-government, civic or religious, professional or non-professional, profit or non-profit organizations.

----------------------Activities are boy planned and boy implemented but with adult guidance, supervision, and direction. Varied outdoor experiences and education for life through camping, hiking, community involvement and the like are pursued and earnestly implemented.

Organization of a Boy Scout Unit


A Troop is divided into four (4) sub-units called PATROLS each headed by a Patrol Leaders. A patrol has a minimum of six (6) and a maximum of eight (8) members. It is organized as follows: 1. Patrol Leader 2. Assistant Patrol Leader 3. Patrol Scribe 4. Patrol Treasurer 5. Patrol Grubmaster 6. Patrol Quartermaster 7. Patrol Hikemaster 8. Patrol Cheer Leader

Advancement Ranks in the Boy Scout Section


When a boy registers as a member of a Boy Scout Troop, he officially starts with the membership rank badge. Then as he grows and develops along the advancement trails and passes the requirements, he is awarded the following ranks:

1. Membership Scout Badge 2. Tenderfoot Scout Rank 3. Second Class Scout Rank 4. First Class Scout Rank
