"White Canvas" brings to life the courage, poetic refinement, and nostalgic grandeur of early 20th-century avant-garde paintings, with a fresh modern twist. It takes us on a journey into the void, symbolized by the blank canvas in the upper left. Here, the Presence silently emerges, shining behind e...

Born in 1973 in Slutsk, BY Resides and works in Jerusalem, IL Alexey Adonin trained as an artist, graduating from Glebov Art College in Minsk with a solid foundation in various artistic styles and techniques. As a result, his creative practice and intellectual exploration are deeply interconnected. He is best known for his abstract surrealist paintings, where the imagery is built through spontaneous brushstrokes and layers of organic patterns, creating visual narratives that invite viewers into imaginative realms beyond conventional reality. Adonin worked at Art Sahasa Ltd in Jerusalem, Israel, focusing on ceramics and sculpture installations. He participated in various projects, including the art design of a dress in collaboration with Art on Fashion (an Irish fashion agency) and mentoring for the COUNTERCLOCK Arts Collective in San Francisco, CA, US. Adonin has contributed as an artist and illustrator to various exhibition catalogs, magazines, galleries, and educational programs as an art critic and guest mentor. His work has been exhibited locally and internationally and is in private collections worldwide. “The Doors Are Open. The Israeli artist Alexey Adonin turns painting into an enigma, as he possesses the intuition to stage works where light—whether pale or intense—conceals even as it reveals a key embedded within a reality whose chromatic texture idealizes it. The sensory qualities of color are inseparable and osmotic, enveloping the form of these inscrutable landscapes as if they were the site of an oracle, within which a mystery unfolds, accessible to very few. I believe it was Adorno who asserted that the most fitting notion to grasp the essence of art from a cognitive perspective is that of an enigma. Indeed, in Adonin’s work, an enigma exists, and he does not shy away from this mission.” -Gregorio Vigil-Escalera-
