My second model of the Japanese manufacturer (Master?) Mr. Hiro. According to my preferences, it was again the windy racing car - Ferrari D50 in the 1956 Monaco Grand Prix (JM Fangio) markings.

Ferrari took over this model from Lancia and made very few modifications. Lancia introduced a number of revolutionary F1 modifications with this model. Essential is the angled orientation of the v8 (Jano) engine and balancing the weight distribution with the installation of side fuel tanks.

I just added rivets and some screws to what was in the box ...

Brush painting and Tamiya and Humbrol sprays.

All of the above and more, outstanding work.  What is the thinking behind the engine being skewed in the chassis?

I always understood it was to route the propshaft alongside the seat, allowing the driver to sit lower in the car.

The pre-war P3 Alfa Romeo racer had twin propshafts in a V layout, I beleive for the same reason.

Absolutely stunning work. Model Factory Hiro kits whilst exceptionally detailed are a labour of love to achieve the most realistic finish - you have created a masterpiece - well done. I just want to go back and study the detail and weathering.

This made it possible to lay the drive shaft diagonally. This placed it next to the driver's seat, not underneath it. The car was lower and had a lowered center of gravity.

Amazing workmanship!  LOVE the weathering.  Worthy of display in a museum.

x 2 - your big scale models are truly amazing, Tomasz !
