Fun action comedy, an American Zatoichi variant. Many action comedies nowadays fail to be fun from start to finish. Although Blind Fury is not free from frowning moments, I was easily carried away by the very present action, the stereotypical baddies and the typical eighties humor. A film that is not too bad if you don't set your expectations too high. Also one of Hauer's rare comedies and no, it's not really his thing. Everything remains well-behaved: you don't get to see more than a few splashes of blood, but why should it always be a bloody affair? So a 12+ movie.

Mmm.

Rutger Hauer can do his thing in a typical 80s action movie. In the heyday of the Stallone's and Schwarzenegger's, but also Lundgren's and Van Damme's of this world, Blind Fury is a bit inferior. Not that I see Hauer responsible for that; it's all just less across the board. On the other hand, the film progresses reasonably well with half the attention and for the running time of less than 90 minutes you should not let it go.

Blind Fury was a great comedy/action for me. Rutger Hauer plays his part fantastically and it has many funny scenes.
