This is a classic story for girls, you have to know it!
The film is really nice too, maybe a little too mincing at times, but still pleasing.

I'm a big passionate of distophia so I obviously liked this movie. Of course it's not the most original, we know there's a little bit of "1984" and a little bit of "Fahrenheit 451", but there are martial arts too and this is quite unusal for this genre. So yes, it's worth watching at least one time.

Most of people remember "The Machinist" for being the first and most extreme (until now, at least) of Bale's losses of weight, and it looks like everyone likes to discuss to decide if he's a great actor or just a crazy man who put his life in danger.
I'll go for the first option, but don't forget that "The Machinist" is not only this, but also a brilliant movie: you can't get your eyes off the screen until the end!

What a cast has worked to realize "The Prestige"!
A team composed by Nolan, Bale, Jackman, Caine, Johansson and even David Bowie has given life to a very brilliant movie that will make work your mind to find out what's going on.. because nothing is what it seems!

Another classic story, I love this movie!
It is basically the tale of a woman who is free and wants to be on her own, then she falls in love and her life becomes horrible. It feeds my feminst side eheh, and there's also a young Viggo Mortensen here.

I consider the one of "Public Enemies" as probably the best interpretation made by Christian Bale. He had the chance to show all his potential as an actor, he really can play using almost only his eyes, without making a lot of gestures, which makes you understand he has deeply underdstood his character and is feeling what he feels.
The rest of the actors weren't exactly newbies, and the result is a more than good movie!

Remember that thing about losing weight? Yeah, he did it again! "The Fighter" is an intense (true) story about family affairs, life problems, disappointed expectations and so on.

I finally went to the cinema to see "American Hustle" and I really enjoyed it! Don't know how to describe it or how to give you a hint about the genre - it is usually classified as "comedy" but I think it's a little limiting because this movie is much more - so well.. just go and watch it!

Empire of the Sun (1987)
I think this is the next one I will watch.. it's too bad I haven't yet, because I'm also a big fan of J.G. Ballard, who wrote the book this film is based on.
Swing Kids (1993)
I'm also very curious about this one, the plot seems really interesting!
Edit: Certainly not my favorite CB's movie. It has some interesting and touching scenes but some other things are quite ridicolous in my opinion.

Velvet Goldmine (1998)
I think this was the first movie with Bale I've seen, several years ago. I don't really don't know what to say about this movie that won't sound obvious, anyway I like it a lot, it's full of great actors.
winonaraiden's rating:
American Psycho (2000)
In my opinion this is the first role of the series that made Bale the actor we know, with his strange and extreme characters.
I read that he was originally fired from the production of American Psycho, but now that we have seen the film, we all know that no one else could have been Patrick Bateman better than him.

Harsh Times (2005)
I haven't heard a lot about this movie, which is a pity because "Harsh Times" is really interesting, raw and wild, as well as the topic of the movie is.
The other actors were great too, and it is a chance to see Eva Longoria as the good actress she can be when she's not a desperate houswife.

Batman Begins (2005)
I'm not so much into superheroes movies as I used to be, anyway I have truly appreciated, and still appreciate, Nolan's Batman series.

Rescue Dawn (2006)
Another hot topic - a secret mission in Laos before the Vietnam war - is faced here by our hero, who lost a lot of weight again and will eventually eat maggots!
winonaraiden's rating:
The New World (2006)
It looks like Bale is strictly linked to Pocahontas' story!
Honestly I found this film a little too slow, the plot was interesting but a little more rhythm wouldn't have been bad.. anyway I've only watched it one time so maybe I should try and watch it again before giving a final opinion.

3:10 to Yuma (2007)
"3:10 to Yuma" is the remake of an old famous western. I haven't seen the original one, but I'm pretty sure this new version has nothing to envy to its father.
The story is very catchy and full of tension, you really wanna know how it will end and you can't get your eyes off the screen; plus, the 3 main characters are very versatile and faceted; not to mention the actors who played them (Russell Crow, Christian Bale and Ben Foster) who were great as well.

The Dark Knight (2008)
My favorite of the Batman trilogy; I know it's predictable, but who isn't flavoured by the crazy Joker? He's the kind of villain who makes you wish the villain will win!

Terminator Salvation (2009)
I started to love Terminator when I was a little kid and I watched it with my parents, so it was great for me to have a sequel with one of my fave actors in it!
"Salvation" won't be as great as the one and only Judgement Day, but it has its goals: it is interesting to see the evolution of the robots, John Connor with his resistance and the strange time trick that made Connor meet his teenager father and have to save him so he could be born.. ugh, my brain is on fire!.

The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
It was impossible to make a sequel at the same level of "The Dark Knight", but we appreciate the try and this last chapter is still a good movie!

Out of the Furnace (2013)
Another great film for our Christian Bale!
The reviews I read on the internet weren't enthusiastic but I think this movie is a little underrated.
I found it full of tension, even if in an unconventional way, I'd say something like "emotional tension", and very intense.
Plus I really appreciated the photography and the shots in the final part were suggestive. The shots of the camera I mean!
No need to mention the cast is full of great actors who do their job at the best!

DO NOT USE (2014)
I read some not-so-enthusiastic reviews about this film, plus I didn't like at all the latest ones from Ridley Scott, so I didn't had many hopes for this.
Anyway I can't miss any film with Bale and one night I decided to watch "Exodus" because a trailer on tv put made me curious about it.
I happily realized I was wrong! This is actually a good epic-biblical movie, with a great photography and I loved how they made Egiptians with blue eyes - it just gives them a divine aura.
Certainly this is NOT the best film with Christian Bale or the best one from Ridley Scott, but I think it's worth to be watched once.

The Big Short (2015)
The only problem with this movie is its lack of any emotional side. You can't really feel any sympathy for any of the characters, but I guess it's not so easy to make an "emotional" film about financial stuff.
Anyway, this is very interesting and useful to understand something about our recent history. Plus it's based on true stories and characters.

I haven't seen them all yet, I'm a little lazy fan!
