"Canada Undefended." Important read in the National Post today with insights from our Chair Guy Thibault and our Executive Director Youri Cormier. "The inevitable consequence of our government’s decisions is that it’s going to be borne by the men & women who we send into harm’s way that may not have all the right tools that affect the mission & the tasks we ask of them.” We will be discussing a lot of these key issues at our #OttawaConference, March 7-8. https://lnkd.in/etPWXxkr https://lnkd.in/eAsgm9kQ

The reported incidents of sexual violence against women in Gaza are deeply concerning and require attention. While I cannot independently verify the specific claims made by Canadian doctors, it is essential to address any allegations of human rights violations seriously. Here are some relevant points based on available information: Canadian Doctors’ Reports: According to Canadian doctors volunteering in Gaza, they have witnessed instances of women being sexually humiliated by Israeli occupation forces in front of their families. One woman was allegedly raped for two days, resulting in her inability to speak. These reports were shared by Clinical Professor of Medicine Dr. Aliya Khan with MEMO. Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Context: The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has a long history of violence, human rights abuses, and suffering on both sides. Israel has legitimate security concerns, but addressing them should not come at the expense of violating human rights or causing harm to civilians. Responsibility and Accountability: It is crucial for all parties involved, including the international community, to investigate such allegations thoroughly. If these reports are accurate, it is incumbent upon Israeli authorities to take appropriate actions to prevent further abuses and hold perpetrators accountable. International Community’s Role: The international community, including Western nations and their politicians, should actively engage in promoting dialogue, accountability, and respect for human rights. Diplomatic efforts should focus on finding a sustainable solution that ensures security for Israel while respecting the rights and dignity of Palestinians. In summary, addressing allegations of sexual violence and human rights abuses is essential for achieving lasting peace and justice in the region. It is incumbent upon all parties, including Western politicians, to take these reports seriously and work toward a more secure and humane future for both Israelis and Palestinians.

Canadian doctors volunteering in Gaza have reported women being sexually humiliated by Israeli occupation forces in front of their families, one woman was raped for 2 days until she was unable to speak, yet nothing is being done about it, Clinical Professor of Medicine Dr Aliya Khan tells MEMO. Please help by reaching out to all women's rights and women's protection organizations and leaders and urge them to fulfill their responsibilities. It's that straightforward. Can we stop acting as if it’s 1950? The way work is set up now makes it tougher for women across the board. We are underpaid and underemployed in the job market as a result. The evidence in this article makes clear that even the most powerful women are getting a rough deal. If these are the challenges facing some of the wealthiest, most influential women, then what about the lone parent working shifts for minimum wage? It’s no wonder we have a gender pay gap of over 13% for all workers. There’s so much to unpick here. But we can start with reimagining work for the world as it is, not some kind of 1950s male breadwinner idyll. We need: ✅ Flexible work by default ✅ More jobshares ✅ And how about men doing some more of that unpaid care work that makes the balance such a struggle? Do you agree? Join us at Fawcett Society and help make the world of work fit for the 21st century. https://lnkd.in/eDPA_tyS I really enjoyed chatting to Eir Nolsøe for this great Telegraph piece. https://lnkd.in/eWFzc5wG

What do they learn in schools 😞 How can you be happy viewing this horrible videos.
Did they celebrate a wedding? Win a championship? Land their dream job? No, they celebrated slaughtering innocent Israeli lives – babies, children, women, elderly. Hamas = ISIS, and so the powerful response needed. Share so the world knows the truth!!! they are not human beings. #StandwithIsrael 🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱 #IsraelAtWar #IsraelUnderAttack
