Your philanthropy builds extraordinary libraries.
Our community of donors includes alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students, foundations, corporations, and friends across the state, the country, and the world. With your support, the NC State University Libraries has the flexibility not only to respond to university needs, but to anticipate those needs and provide our university with a decisive competitive advantage. We are delighted to share our story and our successes with you. By supporting the Libraries, you ensure that we can continue to provide our students and faculty the very best services, spaces, collections, technologies, and staff in the nation.
Did you know that 10% of incoming students come from households below the poverty level? Along with employing over 250 students, the Libraries provides all NC State students with key resources to succeed in their studies such as free textbooks, free technology lending, plenty of study spaces, and much more. Your support for the Libraries impacts every student on campus!
“As a student worker here, I’m also more aware of all the resources available to students through the Libraries, and I am so grateful for all that’s provided to us because we attend this top research school. As a student trying to financially support myself through college, I greatly appreciate all that this scholarship represents.”

“Working at the Libraries has given me a very flexible schedule where I can balance a part-time job and save up money as a college student, while also focusing on school. This role has also shown me how important it is to support the needs of the NC State community because a supportive and healthy environment helps students to learn and grow.”

When Alaina Brennan-Kupec arrived at NC State in 1987, she didn’t know why she felt the way she did. So she went to the library. She couldn’t find any library resources to help her better understand, which is why she and her wife Kathy Brennan-Kupec gave the NC State University Libraries a major gift on Day of Giving to create the Alaina and Kathleen Brennan-Kupec Transgender Collection Endowment to support a collection of transgender-positive materials.
