About the Journal

Diabetes, also called as diabetes mellitus, is defined as a group of metabolic diseases in which the person has high blood glucose either because insulin production is insufficient, or because the body's cells do not react accurately to insulin, or both can be the reasons. Mostly symptoms are polyuria, polydipsia and polyphagia.

Journal of Clinical Diabetes is a peer-reviewed journal that aims to publish research dealing with Diabetes research such as: Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes, Diabetic Nephropathy and retinopathy, Gestational Diabetes and covers all aspects of diabetes technology including: insulin and metabolic peptide delivery, glucose monitoring, Prediabetes, Latent autoimmune diabetes of adults etc.

The primary focus of the Journal lies in exploring the physiology and pathophysiology of Diabetes, Emerging Treatments and Technologies and various types of risks associated with Diabetes. Journal of Clinical Diabetes accepts all types of articles including research, review, case reports, commentaries, hypotheses, meeting reports, editorials and short reports.

Journal of Clinical Diabetes is using Editorial Tracking System for quality in review process. It is an online manuscript submission, review and tracking system used by most of the best open access journals. Review processing is performed by the editorial board members of Journal or outside experts; at least two independent reviewers approval followed by editor's approval is required for acceptance of any citable manuscript.

OMICS International organizes 1000+ conferences every year across USA, Europe & Asia with support from 1000 more scientific societies and publishes 700+ open access journals which contains over 50000 eminent personalities, reputed scientists as editorial board members.

Type 1 Diabetes (juvenile diabetes)

In Type 1 diabetes, the body does not produce insulin. This type is also referred as insulin-dependent diabetes, juvenile diabetes, or early onset diabetes. Type 1 diabetes usually attack before 40s, adulthood or teenagers. People with type 1 diabetes will need to take insulin injections regularly throughout life. They must also confirm proper blood-glucose levels by carrying out regular blood tests and following a special diet.

Type 2 Diabetes (Adult Onset Diabetes)

In this type, the body is unable to produce enough insulin for proper functioning. Type 2 diabetes is a progressive disease which gradually gets worse by time and the patient have to take insulin, in tablet form. Overweight and obese people are more prone to type 2 diabetes. Drinking just one can of (non-diet) soda per day can raise our risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 22%.Men with low testosterone levels can also have a higher risk of having type 2 diabetes.

Insulin INS

Insulin is a hormone present in pancreas, pancreas is a gland located behind stomach. It allows the body to use glucose for energy. There are some types of insulin like - Rapid-acting insulin, Short-acting insulin, Intermediate-acting insulin, Long-acting insulin.

Blood Sugar

The amount of glucose present in the blood of animal or human is called as blood sugar. The body regulates blood glucose levels as a part of metabolic homeostasis.

Gestational Diabetes (Diabetes During Pregnancy)

Gestational diabetes happens during confinement to females. Glucose level is extremely high in blood of some women, and their bodies cannot produce adequate amount of insulin to passage all of the glucose into their cells, due to this there is a progressive increase in the glucose level. Undiagnosed or uncontrolled gestational diabetes can cause risk of complications during childbirth.

Polydipsia

Polydipsia is defined as disproportionate thirst or surplus drinking. Alteration is caused in the osmolality of extracellular fluids of the body hypokalemia, reduced blood volume and other conditions that produce a water deficit. Psychogenic primary polydipsia and non-psychogenic primary polydipsia comes under polydipsia.
