Shyampur
Shyampur (श्यामपुर) is a jat village about 5 km northeast of Hapur in Ghaziabad district in Uttar Pradesh.
Population
It has a population of about 8000. Farming is the major occupation of the residents of this village.
Major Crops:
Sugarcane is traditionally the major crop of this village, supporting it are more traditional crops such as Wheat, Potato, Paddy, Pea etc. But of late the farmers of Shyampur have migrated towards more diversified crops such as vegetables(tomato, bitter gourd, cabbage, cauliflower, pumpkin etc.) and flowers(Gladioli, Rose etc). Growing flowers started with the initiative taken by Ch. Devendra Singh in the year of 1991. Now it is gaining popularity as around 10 people has already started growing flowers.
