Drying racks

Leave Your Laundry Hanging High And Dry

Give your automatic dryer a break and save the environment and a few pennies with our drying racks. Place them in your laundry room or outside on the patio or balcony to dry your clothes, and fold them and stash them away when done - they don’t take up much space. Our MULIG drying rack is large enough to hold more of your laundry while the JÄLL is perfect for smaller spaces. Socks getting misplaced in the dryer? Get the PRESSA hanging dryer or use the TORKIS clothespegs with a basket to secure them to the rack.

Dry, fold, stow away - our drying racks are super accommodating!

Use our drying racks to dry your laundry in the bright sunshine and open air. Want to hang an entire load at once? Our MULIG rack comes with two fold-out wings that hold more clothes and 4 hooks for you to attach innerwear or socks. And if you have a smaller balcony or laundry room, you can always get the JÄLL. Both the MULIG and JÄLL fold flat, so you can stash them away in a cabinet or corner when your clothes are dry. Do the socks keep slipping off from the drying racks? Get our turquoise PRESSA hanging dryer that comes with 16 clothes pegs - hang the dryer on a rack and hang your lingerie, socks or ties from the pegs. Or you can get the TORKIS peg basket. It keeps your hands free while you’re hanging out clothes to dry while the 30 clothes pegs let you attach them to a clothesline or rack, so there are no mishaps on a windy day.

Clothes drying tips

It may seem simple enough to air-dry clothes. But here are some tips and tricks that will help you dry your clothes quickly and with fewer wrinkles:

  • Always smooth out garments before drying them to minimise wrinkles.
  • Place smaller items on lower racks and the larger ones on upper racks.
  • Dry lighter items on the inner rails and the heavier or thicker clothes on the outer rack of your standing clothes dryer rack.
  • Sort your laundry as you dry them so that you can dry and fold items that are stored together easier.
  • Dry items such as skirts and jeans upside down so that the waistband gets more air.
  • Dry stretchy items flat on the drying rack instead of hanging them to dry.
  • Use clothes pegs generously to keep clothes from falling off the rack.

Benefits of using a standing clothes dryer rack

If a care instructions label is missing or when you are in doubt about how to care for a particular item of clothing, air-drying is a safer option than using a dryer. Air-drying clothes also saves energy and is better for the environment. When you air-dry clothes outdoors they are fresher smelling than they would be after machine drying. Drying clothes on furniture or railings will damage them over time. A standing clothes dryer is designed to hold damp clothes. It can hold more clothes in a smaller area while also keeping them separated for air circulation. Clothes racks are handy to dry clothes and then move them easily from one spot to another. They also save you the trouble of installing clotheslines for air-drying clothes. Most standing clothes dryers are foldable and can be easily put away when not in use.

Where do you put a standing clothes dryer rack?

If you live in warmer climates, a standing clothes dryer rack can be placed on a balcony, porch or terrace. In cooler climates, place the rack near a heat source such as a radiator but be careful to prevent a fire hazard. A warm sunny window is also a good place for the clothes to get warmth and air circulation to dry easily. Clothes dryer racks can be moved small distances to get the maximum amount of sunlight and airflow through the day.

If your clothes are dripping wet, first place the standing clothes dryer rack in a bathtub or bathroom where the floor will not get damaged by the water. Move the rack after the clothes dry a little. Placing the dryer rack under a ceiling fan will also speed up the drying process. You can easily fold a standing clothes dryer rack and put it away when not in use.

How to properly hang clothes to dry?

Properly hanging different clothing items to dry keeps them looking their best. Trousers should be hung upside down. Hanging socks by their toes and the cuff downwards gives them ample air to dry and makes them easier to put away. Use clothes pegs generously to keep items from slipping off. Small items like socks are easier to dry on a hanging dryer like the PRESSA hanging dryer with 16 clothes pegs.
