As promised, Apple has released the first betas of all of the platform updates it announced at its WWDC keynote earlier today. This includes iOS 13, tvOS 13, watchOS 6 and macOS 10.15. Registered developers can grab the betas from Apple’s Dev Center.
For those entertaining the idea of installing the iOS 13 beta on your daily driver (your main iPhone), heed this warning Apple posted in the Developer Center:
Important Note for Thrill Seekers: If you’re interested in living on the edge and trying out the great new features in iOS 13, we strongly advise waiting for the many bug fixes and refinements coming to the public beta later this month.
It’s also worth noting that since this is a brand new beta cycle that introduces a number of new features and developer tools, it’s possible some of your favorite apps may not be compatible yet. So if any of your apps are vital, you may want to wait until they are updated.
What’s new
In short, just about everything. Seriously though, these are major updates that bring about a number of new features and improvements. If you’d like to know specifics, check out our roundup posts from today’s events that detail all of the new stuff in each OS:
We are currently installing the developer betas, and will be back shortly with new hands-on posts and videos and other info. As always, if you are running the betas and happen to spot something cool we haven’t mentioned yet, tell us about it in the comments!
