Debra Belgium
Debra Belgium vzw is the Belgian association for Epidermolysis Bullosa patients.
What is Epidermolysis Bullosa?
Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) is a rare skin disease. The cause is a genetic error, which makes the skin layers easily loose. This creates blisters on the skin or on mucous membranes.
The wound care is painful and takes a long time, every day. EB causes a lot of pain and itching, sometimes serious infections and injuries. There is no medicine to cure EB. Every year 4 to 5 children are born in Belgium with EB.
