New Police Story
New Police Story is the 2004 "reboot" of Jackie Chan's Police Story movie franchise. Also released under the international title Xin jing cha gu shi, this film has a more serious action tone than the comedic turns of the previous four films. Jackie Chan would return to the series in 2013 with Police Story: Lockdown.
The following weapons were used in the film New Police Story:
Handguns
Glock 17
The Glock 17 is the sidearm carried by the Hong Kong Police CIB teams in the film. Senior Inspector Chan Kwok-wing (Jackie Chan) is seen having to compete with Joe Kwan (Daniel Wu) to see who can assemble their Glock pistols the fastest. Both the 2nd and 3rd Generation models are seen in the film.
Glock 18
Joe's sidearm throughout the film is the Glock 18.
Smith & Wesson Model 10
The Smith & Wesson Model 10 is seen in the hands of HKPF uniformed officers in the opening shootout as well as at the convention center.
Smith & Wesson 659
In the opening standoff, a distraught gunman (Wong Tak-bun) is seen armed with an early model Smith & Wesson 659. When Chan zooms on the grenade, the gun switches to an S&W 5906 (the same weapon held by Joe later in the film), probably a continuity error. Note that in this sequence, Chan removes the S&W's magazine before he points the gun on his own bulletproof vest, but this particular model in unable to fire without a magazine engaged.
Smith & Wesson 5906
An early model Smith & Wesson 5906 with a square trigger guard is used by Joe Kwan (Daniel Wu).
Beretta 92FS
Toward the beginning of the film, a hostage is forced to point a Beretta 92FS at police officers while acting as a human shield.
Raven Arms MP-25
In the initial robbery, Sue Chow (Coco Chiang Yi), the female gang member, draws a stainless Raven Arms MP-25 pocket pistol on Sam Wong (Dave Wang).
Rifles
Heckler & Koch G3SG/1
Joe Kwan (Daniel Wu), the leader of the gang, carries what appears to be a Heckler & Koch G3SG/1 equipped with a scope in the opening bank heist. In some scenes, the rifle appears to be a Tokyo Marui airsoft replica.
HK51
What appears to be a scoped HK51 is used by Joe at the convention center.
Custom AR-15
What appears to be a custom version of the AR-15 is seen being used by Sue Chow (Coco Chiang Yi) in the opening shootout. The rifle is fitted with an ACOG scope and two magazines clamped together. From one shot, it definitely looks like someone took the upper receiver of a flat top M4 and gave it a shorter barrel (or installed an upper from an SBR such as the Colt RO933) and slapped it onto a lower receiver with a solid stock. Conversely, it is also possible that it started out as an SBR, and the collapsible stock assembly was replaced with a fixed stock assembly.
M4A1 Carbine
What appears to be an M4A1 Carbine (or replica) is seen on the convention center floor. Like Sue Chow's AR-15, it is also fitted with an ACOG scope as well as a RIS handguard.
Bushmaster M17S
Bushmaster M17S bullpup assault rifles are used by Law Tin Tin (Andy On) and "Fire" (Terence Yin) during the opening shootout.
Ruger AC556K
"Fire" (Terence Yin) uses what appears to be a Ruger AC556K during the shootout at the Convention Center.
L85A2
During the opening bank heist, "Fire" carries what appears to be an L85A2. Upon closer inspection, the rifle appears to be an airsoft replica (due to the color of the handguard and that the charging handle and bolt appear to be plastic).
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5A2
The Heckler & Koch MP5A2s are used by the Special Duties Unit (SDU) during their raid on the Convention Center, tactical flashlights and laser devices are seen attached to their weapons. The MP5 is seen once briefly in the hands of one of the CIB team members during the opening shootout. Max Leung (Hiro Hayama) also uses an MP5 with a foregrip and tri-rails in the first bank robbery.
Shotguns
Remington 870
Hong (Deep Ng) is armed with a Remington 870 with a dedicated Model 618 Surefire weaponlight attached to the forend.
Others
M67 Hand Grenade
An M67 hand grenade is carried by a distraught gunman during the opening standoff.
