This show is brilliant! I didn't think I'd like it. But, I'm glad I was wrong! Glad there's representation of the differently-abled community. They're just as funny and human, as the rest of us.
DJ Qualls is brilliant as the quadriplegic best friend, and even made me cry.
I wish I could write a lot more, but would contain spoilers. Please, check it out, both seasons(?) is on Hulu, currently.

Pilot episode review: I have been a fan of Jim Jefferies for many years. His stand-up comedy is mix of crudeness, vulgarity and pure brilliance. If that doesn't sound like your cup of tea, then there is no point even bothering to check out this series. "Legit" is a show similar to Louis C.K's "Louie", but it's not quite the same since Louie episodes are made up with different sketches. Jim Jefferies plays himself and the story of the pilot is taken from one of his older stand-up routines where he helps his friend's disabled and dying brother get laid at a whorehouse. The dialogue and situations that occur are both funny and well acted, and it is quite moving in it's own strange way. If the rest of the episodes keep up the same quality I think it will be a hit series for us who enjoy dark comedy.
The first episode was great however the show vastly improves as it goes on. I'm reviewing this after episode 4 which was one of the funniest 20 minutes i've had in a long time! The story is building and the cast is settling in.
Give it a chance people!
Sure Jim Jefferies style will be new to many people - and that's what makes this show so refreshing. Jim tells it just like he really see's it and takes this type of comedy way past what Curb your Enthusiasm and Ricky Gervais have done.
BTW - I'm always on IMDb but have never bothered to review any of the fantastic films and TV shows I've watched of the years. Legit has made me step up - it's that good!
Stick with it guys - at least get to episode 2

Just stumbled on this show and I'm so glad I did! I'm not familiar with Jim Jeffries' comedy... Maybe that is a good thing, but this show is hilarious! If you want to see "masterful acting" go see Les Miserables or some crap like that. Wanna see funny? Watch this! No, it's not for the kiddies, but I just watched it on a Thursday night at about 10 PM. Responsible parents already have their kiddies tucked in bed by then, so if little Jane or Johnny is still up, don't blame TV programming for any problems. It might be obnoxious humor to some and if strong language offends you then perhaps it's best that you skip this show. As for me, I will check the schedule and eagerly await the next episode.

I don't understand the hate this show has been getting from some viewers. Legit has some of the funniest, rawest, most original lines I've seen on a TV show, and also has tremendous heart. By the end of the third episode, I was switching between hysterical laughter and tearing up. No, it's not PC, it's raunchy, and its not something you want young kids to see, but the caring in Jim's efforts to make life better for his disabled friend, and the situational humor that goes along with it, make this show one of the best on TV. Or, you could go back to watching your regular broadcast sitcom with a canned laughtrack, in which nothing resembling real life ever occurs...
