The institute will conduct fundamental and applied research in the development, analysis, and application of communication technologies with their subsequent commercialisation, as well as train development engineers for the telecom industry. Professor Evgeny Koucheryavy, Director of the MIEM Telecommunications Research Institute, has spoken to the HSE News Service about the goals, objectives, strategy and structure of the new organisation.

The HSE Artificial Intelligence Centre has developed software for modelling radio channels in 5G and 6G wireless networks, based on ray tracing and machine learning techniques. Their software solutions enable modelling radio wave propagation between transmitters and receivers and can convert ray tracing data into a frame sequence format, configure and train neural networks based on this data, and subsequently save the trained models.

Evgeny Kucheryavy,Professor at the School of Electronic Engineering, has told the HSE LooK about MIEM wireless network projects he and his department are involved in, as well as his work with MIEM students.

The 7^th Moscow International Forum ‘Open Innovations.’ which took place from October 15 – 17 in Skolkovo, included an exhibition on the results of research carried out by academic institutions, small enterprises and leading universities, including HSE.

The Russian Science Foundation has announced the most recent winners of three-year grants for scientific research. Among the recipients are a number of projects carried out by scientists at the Higher School of Economics.
