- Synopsis
- Rebel. Poet. Revolutionary: 'Lieber Thomas' is a declaration of love to the german writer Thomas Brasch (1945-2001). When Soviet tanks invaded Prague in 1968, Thomas and other students demonstrated in the streets of Berlin. His father, Horst, denounced him to the Stasi, who imprisoned him. On probation, he writed about love, revolution and death. With no prospect of being heard in the GDR, Thomas and his girlfriend fled the country. Brasch is celebrated in the West and his books become best-sellers.
