Vikings Valhalla season three has landed on Netflix but will there be a fourth series to get excited about?
The epic prequel has returned, picking up from the dramatic events of the season two finale which saw Freydis Eriksdotter (played by Frida Gustavsson) free the people of Jomsborg at last.
Vikings Valhalla has now made a comeback with all season three episodes dropped in one go on Thursday, July 11, so it won’t be too long before subscribers whizz through all eight episodes.
Will there be a Vikings Valhalla season 4?
The original drama Vikings ran for six seasons before it came to an end in 2022 and just two years later, the spin-off Vikings Valhalla, set more than 100 years later, was born.
Shortly after the first series came out, the show was given a double renewal with the second season’s release last year and series three this week.
Even though Vikings was on for six seasons, it will not be the same for Vikings Valhalla with the spin-off coming to an end after series three.
The news was announced that this latest outing would be its last came out last month with showrunner Jeb Stuart confirming to IGN that having three series “made sense story-wise”.
In a statement, he commented: “I am so grateful to have had three seasons to tell the stories of Leif, Harald, and Freydis.
“I knew from the beginning that I wanted to show the evolution of how three of the most famous Vikings became the icons we know today, and we have done just that.”
“I hope when the audience gets to see the new season, they’ll be excited by all the new heights that we’ve taken these heroes.”
There has been some fan speculation that another spin-off could be made, following the success of both Vikings and Vikings Valhalla, although there has been no word on this as of yet.
So for now at least, subscribers are going to have to make the most of the final outing of Vikings Valhalla but how will the epic action drama conclude?
