When it comes to airport delays or cancellations we have all been there. Whether it is lost baggage, strikes or uncontrollable weather conditions. There always seems to be something wrong when travelling abroad.

If this has happened to you then you might want to make note as a new study has found the UK airports where your flight is most likely to be cancelled this summer.

Online casino comparison site Casino Alpha looked at data from the UK Civil Aviation Authority to find the number and percentage of flight cancellations at UK airports throughout 2023.

The airports had to have 10,000 or more arranged flights during the year with the highest percentage of cancellations determined by the ranking.

They found Aberdeen Airport came top, with 4.39 percent of scheduled flights in 2023 being cancelled.

Aberdeen Airport also reported 28,690 planned flights, 1,318 of which not going ahead. Meanwhile, 31.02 percent of flights from Aberdeen arrived up to 15 minutes late to their destination.

Elsewhere, a further 10.39 percent of flights landed 16 to 30 minutes late.

Let’s take a look at the 10 UK airports with the highest rate of flight cancellations, according to Casino Alpha.

“It’s clear from the data that all UK airports experience a huge lack of punctuality even when flights go ahead as scheduled.”
