About this ebook
Foley Western
About the Author I live in Hampshire United Kingdom, I am married with two children. I am well-travelled, and interested in people and in different cultures. I love writing romantic novels usually inspired by places i have visited. After graduating from university I acquired a bachelor of arts degree, then later a post graduate degree in Library Science. I have since worked as a Librarian for a a number of years. Now I enjoy writing Novels. In my free time i do take part in amateur dramatics and reading. Now when I can, i travel to different places, the farther away the better, learning about the culture and language of places i visit. I come back home to write novels based on my observations and to inspire women.

She’s still having a hard time adjusting to the big changes in her life. You can

Alex and the New Teacher - Foley Western
Alex and the new Teacher
By Foley Western
Alex felt exhausted. It had only been two weeks since coming back from his weekend camping trip with his grandfather, and his mum’s imposed regime of good behaviour on his part was becoming unbearable. He thought today was the worst day of all. Things were not going well. His favourite teacher (Mr Better), the only one he believed understood him, had left the school for good.
In his place was a teacher from Grange School who had the reputation of being a strict disciplinarian. He was going to be his class teacher.
Oh dear, what was Mr Better thinking? Alex looked around at the other students in his year, wondering what they were thinking. Everyone had loved Mr Better, or so it seemed. He imagined that they felt bewildered, just as he did. After all, Mr Better seemed to love teaching and suddenly he wanted to leave in the middle of the term?
It was almost as if he had been bewitched thought Alex. Mrs Maple entered the hall where the sixth year students had gathered to meet their new teacher.
Children, I would like to introduce you to Mr Strictan, your new teacher.
Alex looked at his new teacher. He was a tall man with spectacles and hair cropped so short that it seemed as if he was nearly bald. He wore a stern expression on his face and looked as if he had never smiled a day in his life. Great, thought Alex. He had a feeling that his days of enjoying year six were about to come to an end.
Mr Strictan removed his spectacles. Good morning, children. I am Mr Strictan. I want you to know that I look forward to getting to know each one of you and that I am ready to help you whenever you need.
His voice was quiet but strong, and it wasn’t stern at all, as Alex had expected. However, as he looked into his new teacher’s eyes he had a feeling that they didn’t miss much. The assembly was held at the end of the day, so the students were dismissed to go home afterwards. Alex headed back to his house, not knowing what he should expect the following day. Alex,
his mum said when he got home, make sure you go and get your homework done before you go outside to play.
Yes Mum
replied Alex
Inwardly sighing, Alex thought, "why does mum have to remind me all
