      Opening Prayer

      Heavenly Father, we thank You, Lord, for Your wisdom, guidance and inspiration as we study Your Word in Colossians. Help us to understand and apply the message of Paul's letter to the Colossians to our everyday lives. We ask that You guide us in our discussion of Paul's teachings. May we gain a greater understanding of Christ, who is the image of God invisible and firstborn of all creation. Help us embrace our new selves, created in God’s image. Teach us to dress ourselves in compassion, kindness and humility as we become a new self. Strengthen our faith, enhance relationships between members, and prepare us to live the Gospel truth. We pray that we can be united, just like Paul did with the Colossians. Make our conversations full of grace and truth. Make our time together enjoyable.  Help us to remain focused on Jesus in all that we do.

      We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
