About this ebook

My people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6).

This book is a cry to the souls of humanity. It uncovers the unhealthy mind-sets that have penetrated the church, causing leaders to surrender their wills to a false deception of the Word of God, leaving his people in a fragile and vulnerable state. Churches have been destroyed, families divided, and marriages shattered. It demonstrates how Gods people have allowed the spirit of deception to manipulate, control, divide, and conquer. It brings to the forefront the seriousness and undeniable need for emotional healing amongst the people of Goda healing that affects the hearts and minds, restoring health and wholeness in our very existence.

Sharis Pitt Goines

Sharis L. Pitt-Goines was reared in a very structural Christian home where she was taught to accept and live by the doctrines, principles, and teachings of Jesus. Her love and her passion for God compelled her to offer to God an open-ended, undefined yes to God’s will and purpose for her life. The theme of her life has always been “God’s woman—that’s what I want to be. God living inside of me joyfully for all the world to see.” Sharis is a graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, where she received a bachelor of arts in sociology. She later graduated from the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia, where she received a master of arts in Christian education and a master of divinity. Her field of study is psychology of religion, pastoral care, and counseling. She traveled to Jamaica for ten weeks and served as the assistant pastor in one of the local community churches while completing an internship. She also completed her clinical pastoral training while serving as a chaplain for one of the local hospitals in the community where she presently resides.

    Preface

Just don’t die! is a message God imparted into my spirit to give to his people. The focus of the message encompassed matters of the heart. The question that highlighted the delivery was, What is in your heart?

As I look around the world in which we live, in the church world, be it as it may, I sense so much pretense, unforgiveness, and misconceptions. People seemingly hiding behind titles, clothes, makeup, fake smiles, fake handshakes, fake looks, and total deception. It becomes very difficult to know what is real and what is not, whom to trust and not to trust. We, as the people of God, have become a total misconception of the image and essence God ever intended for his Church, his Bride to portray. There seems to be no real exemplification of true love. When we look at the church today, it makes the church God is calling portray an assimilation of a fantasy. When we read about the church God is calling for while reflecting on the church of today, the church we read about is almost like living in the premises of Alice in Wonderland, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Sleeping Beauty—just a simple fairytale.

The cares of this life have cluttered our hearts and minds so, that it is as if human emotions have taken us places that God never meant for us to go. They have opened the door and allowed the sin of division and deception to make themselves at home in what God created as his temple. The Bible lets us know that we, the church, is to be the body of Christ. Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular (Romans 12:27).

I Am Crying, God, But Are They Listening? speaks to the subtle tactics of the enemy to woo God’s people into a deep slumber being unconscious of the fact that they could very well be living outside of the will, call, and promises of God. We have to wake up, open our eyes, and see how the enemy is attempting to destroy God’s Church. I understand the scripture to say, if God did not shorten the days, there should be no flesh saved (Matthew 24:22). Let us
