About this audiobook
Sari Solden
A psychotherapist who herself struggles with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD), Sari Solden specializes in individual, couple, and group work with AD/HD adults and their partners. She also trains, and consults with, other mental-health professionals in assessing and counseling adults with AD/HD. Journeys Through ADDulthood, her second book, grew out of twelve years of working with men and women with AD/HD, during which time she developed a framework for understanding the difference between those who get stuck following diagnosis and those able to grow and move on. Her goals are to share her understanding of the developmental milestones in the lives of AD/HD adults, assist those men and women in achieving greater self-awareness and fulfillment, and foster increased understanding among the non-AD/HD population.

What our readers think
Readers find this title lacking in personality and the narration is sad, quiet, monotone, and mumbling. It is not enjoyable and irritating to listen to. However, the book itself is worth reading and provides a lot of value. Stick to the text version for a better experience.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Sometimes authors aren’t great at audiobook narration, and I think this is unfortunately an example of that. She is quiet, monotone, and at times even kind of mumbling. For a book primarily aimed at people whose brains need stimulation to pay attention, this is a bad combination. I had to stop before very long because it was irritating to have to force myself to listen.
I gave 3 stars because I’ve actually read the book before and got a lot out of it. I suggest you stick to the text version.4 people found this helpful
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Sorry, Sari, but you need to hire a narrator. It is impossible to listen to this book when the narration is so lacking in personality.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I agree this book should have hired a narrator. This voice is so sad, I cant listen to it unless its on 1.5 speed, but then it's not enjoyable.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Excellent book for learning about ADHD, especially if you have the inattentive subtype. This book is particularly targeted to women who were not diagnosed until adulthood. Diagnosis this late in life is literally life-altering, as it suddenly reveals the reason for many of the woman's decisions and occurrences throughout life. Ms. Solde gives a detailed description of ADHD and the challenges it presents, and ends with suggestions and recommendations for someone with a recent diagnosis to reclaim control of their life.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Without this book, I firmly believe I would have spent the next 40 years of my life in a haze of mediocrity, doubting myself and my abilities. Because of this book, I sought diagnosis and help, which is already making a world of difference. This is not a book of (un)helpful hints and admonitions to try harder to stick to your schedule. Solden paints a clear picture of how ADD/ADHD affects every aspect of a woman's life, from her ability to manage her household and her job to her ability to see herself as successful and worthwhile. Solden spends a great deal of the book explaining how having ADD/ADHD is different for women and how we can break free of the expectations society and we, ourselves, impose on us.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5One of the most helpfull and easy to read books about ADD/ADHD I've read. Sari Solden's writing is warm and humorous, and her information is helpful and encouraging.
