About this audiobook
According to researchers, the vast majority—a whopping 75-98 percent—of the illnesses that plague us today are a direct result of our thought life. What we think about truly affects us both physically and emotionally. In fact, fear alone triggers more than 1,400 known physical and chemical responses in our bodies, activating more than thirty different hormones! Today our culture is undergoing an epidemic of toxic thoughts that, left unchecked, create ideal conditions for illnesses.
Supported by current scientific and medical research, Dr. Caroline Leaf gives readers a prescription for better health and wholeness through correct thinking patterns, declaring that we are not victims of our biology. She shares with readers the “switch” in our brains that enables us to live happier, healthier, more enjoyable lives where we achieve our goals, maintain our weight, and even become more intelligent. She shows us how to choose life, get our minds under control, and reap the benefits of a detoxed thought life.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5For 3 hours she repeated the same thing again and again and again. I would listen to any of firsts chapters and move forward to chapter 11.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It's worth reading. Hoping to practice the solutions provided here
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Life changing if only you do the simple things that it recommends in a consistent manner.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book has the opportunity to change your life if you let it. In order for you to get a change you have to do the 21 day detox.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I'm sure the content is great but unfortunately for me there was too much reference to the Bible and a all powerful God.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5After much research over the years and personal grapple alongside, i find that Caroline Leaf, although speaking loudly and proudly- her actual content is a shallow skim of a topic that is multidimensional and complex. I'm afraid that her book promises a quick fix and perhaps has some truth but it's just way more layered and complex than she alludes. Even though many do, this is not seen by me as truth to hold on to. I'm highly dubious and saddened by the arrogant 'black and white' way in which it is presented as it convinces people that they will be fixed by her methods and just need to do better. When it doesnt heal or have long term results the individual, I imagine, is often left thinking about whether they could have done better which exacerbates the problem. One star is an adequate reflection on the value of her book in my life and how I feel others should approach it. With a pinch of salt
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Loved the book. I will be ordering her workbooks because I really believe this is a powerful tool. That being said, it was incredibly difficult to focus on the book due to poor narration.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Half the book is spent sprouting the famous five step 21 day brain program. With an hour left I hope
She actually explains it instead of hyping it up in her own book. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I loved the book it was amazing and practical too though it's a bit technical and practical I'd recommend it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5If you enjoy Thomas Moore, Caroline Leaf is a natural extension in learning about mind, soul and feeling better.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5While both Neuroplasticity and Christianity are great, and work together. This author needs help. I've read the book before and listened to her podcasts for a while. Don’t waste your time! There are better educated authors on both subjects, and the combination as well! She needs therapy worse than you or those you are concerned about! Find a competent resource for yourself and/or your loved one.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book has changed the game for me! I have started my 21 day brain detox and I’m already feeling so much hope and positivity.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Fascinating. The science included is amazing and so, so encouraging.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Wow. Its really an eye opener. Synthesising the practicality of science with the infallible word of God in a constructive and faith-like manner.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Not great, this book is very theoretical, with very few practical applications. There was also an over emphasis on the effect of epigenetics and quantum physics. Lots of fluff, but not much that could be useful.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5It unfortunately doesn’t lend itself very well to an audiobook, because of the excessive quotations throughout
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Good scientists information with supported Biblical cotes. I do recommend this book
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5What makes this book so great, is the wealth of scientific knowledge and facts that are brought in line with God's Word. I have learned so much from this book. I loved how Dr Leaf reminded us constantly how brilliantly God has created us! after His own image! This book is a wonderful guide to mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health and well-being. Everyone needs to study, and apply this book to their own lives.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The best approach connecting God with science I ever read.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5É claro, objetivo e apresenta informação extremamente interessante e útil.
