      Boring and long winded. Anna the mother is not relatable at all. Unbelievable characters. I was tempted to quit listening to this book and I wish I had.

      Unexpectedly rubbish ending to a good book. Feel like the book would have also been fine without all the racism - added nothing to the story at all.

      I've only started this book but the sarcasm is AMAZING- laughing out loud. Great dialogue and narration.

      The main character was so whiny and boring (Coyotes! I’m unfulfilled!) that I was rooting for the nanny to really get her and her dull, vain husband. After the coyote meltdown I was too bored and gave up.

      I feel bad for such a low rating, but I could not get into this book. Perhaps the female narration? The storyline was less than gripping, and I really tried to follow, but I could NOT connect with any of the characters.
      I am sure this is NOT this author's best work. I will seek out his other titles.
      One bad one should not spoil the bunch.

      I enjoyed the book in general. I am disappointed at the ending; felt like it was a twist for the sake of twist. There was not enough leading up to it.

      I wasn’t really into this book (dragged and didn’t have an excitement factor), but would have never given a bad review. That’s is...until I got almost to the end. Apparently, the writer thinks that a nazi and trump supporter are one in the same. To say I’m offended is an understatement. Why that was included in this book is inappropriate and not even relevant to the story. Not impressed!

      I really did enjoy this book, I loved how the author added current events, which made the storyline that much more relatable, however, I feel at times, there were too many plots. If the author decides to take some of those plots and write new books from them, that would be great. Also, one of the characters wrote a book, I do hope this is something the author plans to release as a real book, I think it would be very interesting.

      The story line was pretty good. However, the author needed to do more research on The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and its members. The inaccuracies were quite laughable and fed into so many stereotypes.

      The blurb sounded so good but the actual listen was only ok. The story is told from multiple perspectives which is always a plus for me. There was a couple of sub-plots going on which were interesting enough but they didn’t go where they needed to make it a great read. I felt like it was just going through the motions with a little suspense thrown in at times. Character wise some likeable and some really unlikeable ones. The narration and flow worked well but with the slow pace and lack of suspense it didn’t hold my attention like I thought it would. Was raging as it sounded so good.

      I requested this book from the library because there were so many dazzling reviews online. Overall I enjoyed the premise, and the characters. This was a solid thriller with an interesting premise, and it was also a quick read. I really connected with Anna’s feelings about motherhood-the sense of guilt, isolation, and fear for your children that you feel. There were a few twists in the plot that I didn’t see coming, which I always enjoy. It makes the overall delivery of the story more impactful.

      The Woman in our House begins as a domestic drama and quickly escalates to an edge-of-your-seat thriller. Andrew Hart, the author, is a pen name for A.J. Hartley. Anna Klein, a young wife and mother of two young daughters, decides to return to her job as a literary agent. It is clear that Anna will need help with the children and proceeds to meticulously research recruitment agencies in the search for a reliable nanny. She chooses Oaklynn Durst, a mormon woman from Utah who has excellent recommendarions and she quickly moves into the family home and the children take an instant liking to their new nanny. Soon, Anna notices odd behaviour: her otherwise healthy children begin to require visits to the ER where Oaklynn basks in the sympathy she receives from the medical staff. The rest of the story will be divulged when you read this cringe-worthy novel. Creepy only begins to describe what happens. Highly recommended.
