    Readers find this title to be a mixed bag. The story is engaging and keeps readers interested throughout, with a good pace and unpredictable twists. However, the narration is a major drawback for many readers. The narrator's constant swallowing and mouth noises are distracting and off-putting. Some readers find it gross and offensive. The book itself receives positive reviews, but the narration brings down the overall experience. Despite this, readers still appreciate the author's storytelling and the book's ability to captivate them.

      DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS WITH HEADPHONES.

      This story is really well written. It’s engaging and, while a little predictable, it kept me interested.

      HOWEVER…

      This narrator takes “casual narration” to a new depths…in a terrible, terrible way. The mouth sounds are incessant, she makes disgusting chewing sounds (the sounds are not necessary if the author already described them), and the constant rattling intakes of breath for every single character are so annoying and distracting. Took me right out of the story every time.

      It’s too bad that I really enjoyed this author because she exclusively worked with this narrator for her books and there’s no way I can listen to her again.

      I was left a bit disappointed by the end. I did like the premise, good, but it could have been great. The opportunities were there in spades. Heaths perspective could have saved this book.

      Good story. She did a good job flowing the story through the present and past. Not a huge fan of the narrator(most voices were the same). There was also not really a pause between the last word in a chapter and the start of the next chapter. Overall though, good story that kept me listening and interested the whole time.

      Great Book. Very entertaining. The author explains every scene thoroughly using simple, yet interesting language. She also gives lots of details that make you feel as if you were part of every event.

      Couldnt get past the 2nd chapter. Lip smacking narrator seemed short of breath while reading.

      Three chapters in, i didn't think I was going to continue listening. But, before I knew it, I was hooked. This is a very unusual novel , and I had to find out how it unfolded - so I kept on to the end! I would recommend persevering (you get used to the breathy narration style) . Soon, you will find that the story has been weaving itself around you, and you can't help but keep listening.

      It took me several chapters to get into this and normally I would stop listening if I don’t get an immediate love for a book. I’m glad I continue to listen. It definitely has some twist and turns that by the end of the book it was worth the time.

      Good story & the ending was good as well, maybe the hopping timeline was a bit much, making the story drag unnecessarily. The comments about the narrator smacking her lips are exegarated, & I almost didn't try the story because of that! Her voice sounds a bit nasal & too chill sometimes or sort of bored, but the narration was still good.

      Awesome story with very cool twists, that make you want to keep reading! A real page turner. The characters were very believable with intricate, well-plotted pasts, motives and thoughts. I loved the descriptions and settings. Very well written! And, I very much enjoyed the narration, that was wonderfully done and made it feel like I was listening to “a movie”! This was my first book by this author and I definitely want to read more (hopefully done by the same narrator)!!

      Liked this one and almost didnt want to listen to it because of all the bad reviews for the narrator, decided to give it a try either way and my conclusion is the narrator is doing very well. Didnt hear any nasty sounds (even with earbuds in).
