THE MONSTERS WALKING FREE
MURDER OF THE TWO SUES
The infamous Easey Street murders remain as much of a mystery today as when they occurred more than 40 years ago.
In January 1977, neighbours had noticed something amiss at the home of Suzanne Armstrong, 28, and Susan Bartlett, 27. They’d heard whimpering from Suzanne’s 16-month-old son, Gregory, and their pet dog had been roaming the area unsupervised.
After three days, neighbours entered 147 Easey Street in Collingwood, VIC and found the two women dead. Baby Gregory was dehydrated, but otherwise unharmed.
Police believe both women were killed on January 10, after being stabbed multiple times. Yet, there were no signs of forced entry and the killer had even cleaned up the bathroom after the murders, before exiting via the back door.
Police established 130 persons of interest in the case. Yet despite investigations, each lead quickly went cold and this murder mystery currently remains unsolved.
