Come to Barcelona in May or June to see the city burst into life. The tapas bars and nightspots are lively with visitors, and it’s warm enough to sunbathe on the sandy beaches. This is also the kick-off point of the city’s legendary festivals, promising an electric atmosphere.
Mid to late April and September are good bets for a quieter Barcelona. The cruise ship hordes and holidaymakers are yet to descend on the city, so the tourist attractions and tapas bars tend to be much sleepier and easy to access.
