TL8163 : Ickworth Park

taken 22 years ago, near to Little Saxham, Suffolk, England

Ickworth Park
Ickworth Park
The cottage is known as 'Mordaboys' - perhaps a corruption of 'mort de bois' = dead wood. The cottage was once a blacksmith's shop, serving travellers on the Chevington Way, an ancient route to the market in Bury St Edmunds. The landscaping in Ickworth Park was undertaken by Capability Brown.
