These four circular sewage beds next to Durrington Down Farm were all in operation, going slowly round and round.

Fog settles in on a frosty Salisbury Plain. This is the byway south of Larkhill, which crosses The Cursus just beyond the second puddle. Stonehenge (in SU1242) is, mistily, on the skyline.

Willoughby Road (left, ahead) meets Fargo Road (right). SU1243 : Frost shadows, Larkhill was taken just up the former. Beyond is the housing shown in SU1243 : Married Quarters at Larkhill.

Frosty tracks lead to and from the trough beside the byway between Larkhill and Stonehenge.

The byway, which continues the line of Willoughby Road south of Larkhill, approaches two conifer plantations. Taken from the same spot as SU1243 : Water trough, Durrington Down.

A track leaves the byway between Stonehenge and Larkhill and runs through this plantation of pines.

You know you are addicted to Geograph when you are out for a country walk and take a picture of a sewage works, and you companion makes no comment. Some of military housing of Larkhill can be seen just to the left beyond the trees.

The principal farming activity appears to be logging, judging by the log piles behind the large shed in the centre of the photo. Cattle roam the grassland in the foreground.
