Looking east across the eastern side of this square typical of the flat land in this shallow valley of the River Alne. The buildings in the distance are Haselor Grounds, just inside the next square to the east.

These are very productive alluvial soils on the flood plain of the River Alne this one is alongside one of the lanes running south from Great Alne. In the background are the houses of Walcote in SP1258.

Looking NNW along Pelham Lane, just north of Haselor.

This hedge marks the line of a small stream draining the rich alluvial soils of the Alne floodplain. The large white house in the distance is the Old Vicarage at Walcote.

This hayfield from which the hay had already been harvested lies right alongside the River Alne. The river is just out of shot to the right of the picture. The hedge on the left marks the minor road from Alne to Haselor. This is quite close... (more)

This is the old trackbed of the dismantled Bearley Junction to Alcester railway. It is now a permissive footpath.
