The road enters the valley of Carrock Beck on the north side of the stream; ultimately the road reaches the Driggeth Mine, long disused, on the east face of High Pike which is the distant mountain in the image.
The road leaves a public road close to the farm at Calebrack then heads generally north of west winding its way around hill slopes. It's supposed that its original purpose was to serve the Sandbeds Mine a kilometre or so ahead and... (more)
