#143 Market Street has been home to a number of short-lived businesses in recent years including "The Selling Room" that rented out washing machines, a florist that opened and closed within a fortnight and "The Box Room" SJ9494 : ##143-145 Market Street, Hyde specialising in women's shoes. In 2016 it was home to Combibo Tuition SJ9494 : 143-145 Market Street which offered sessions in mathematics and English at SAT/GCSE standard, and adult conversation sessions in both Spanish and English. In 2020 it changed to "Aim High Private Tuition" SJ9494 : Aim High & Kong's. In 2023 it become a vape shop SJ9494 : 143 - 147 Market Street. Now it has expanded to include Active Gym Wear.
#145 is Kong's, a very popular chippie that has been open since 1974 before which it was a laundry. The shop will close at the end of the year as the owners are retiring.
