Why Join GCIR?

The GCIR network—over 130 members strong and counting—is dedicated to uplifting the contributions and addressing the needs of this country’s immigrant and refugee populations. GCIR members are local, state, and national foundations with diverse grantmaking priorities, including health, education, rights and justice, economic security, and more. Some explicitly fund immigrant-related efforts; others recognize the importance of applying an immigration lens to their existing grantmaking programs and priorities.

Being a GCIR member demonstrates a commitment to building an inclusive and equitable society and helps to build a robust community of funders focused on the needs of newcomers. This support is particularly crucial at this defining moment in our nation’s history, which presents daunting challenges but also great opportunities for philanthropy to advance immigrant justice and belonging.

As a flexible source of funding, membership dues are critical to GCIR’s sustainability. This form of support enables us to continue addressing the immediate needs of immigrant communities in the short term while laying the foundation for transformative change over the long term.

With your membership dues,

  • keep philanthropy up to date on the latest developments

  • mobilize timely and strategic philanthropic responses

  • catalyze high-impact grantmaking to bring about long-term systemic and structural change

Philanthropic leadership and solidarity is crucial to protecting our collective future, and GCIR stands ready as a resource, partner, and catalyst to grantmakers. As a GCIR member in these extraordinary times, you would be part of a philanthropic movement that is advancing justice, equity, and inclusion for all.

We invite you to become a member today!
